There are many domain names registrars online, and the key point here is to register your domain name by a domain registrar who will be in business for the long haul.
When you create a domain name online, your actually creating a brand name for yourself. You have to choose your domain name wisely. There is no way to change this domain name once you start building traffic to your site.
Cheap Domain Names
You can buy domain names by many registars online, some have lower prices than others. The ones I usually use are StarterHost, 1and1.com, namecheap.com and inamesdirect.com.
I always use more than one domain name registrar, just as I have more than one web hosting account. I try to not put all my eggs in one basket.
You should register your domain names even if you don’t have plans to use them right now, it is so very important to keep them until your ready to use them, because if you don’t register them, when your ready to registrar them, you might be shocked to know that someone has registered that name for you.
Many of you come online with an idea, but you have no clue of knowing how famous your business will become. Let me give you an example to illustrate this.
A friend of mines registered a domain name with a hyphen, something like my-name.com
He built out his site, and after a couple years, he then realized that he wanted the name without hyphen, but he had to pay a very hefty price to get that domain name. It is advisable to try and get a domain name without a hyphen first, and choose domain names with one hyphen if you can. This domain name that I choose has two hyphens, but it is just a side niche of mines.
Just make sure your register all your dot com domain names.
